We have a full-time mechanical engineering staff to provide complete single-source design of HVAC, plumbing and process-piping systems for new, as well as retrofit installations.
Our Process
As the client, you would retain the architect (if necessary) unless, of course, you want us to select one from the list of several local architects with whom we have established long-term relations. And we, in turn, would interact with the architect's building design parameters to design a comfortable, efficient, reliable and cost-effective HVAC and plumbing system based on your needs. The responsiblity is in the hands of Smith & Oby -- no costly scope disputes between the contractor and engineer due to incomplete designs or misunderstood intentions.
Our Actions
- Prepare a budget for your consideration.
- Negotiate a firm, or cost-plus, contract price with you.
- Evaluate alternative methods and specifications to enhance performance or save costs.
- Prepare the detailed design drawings and specifications for your approval.
- Prepare design drawings for local permit requirements.
- Prepare detailed construction drawings that are coordinated with structural limitations and electrical requirements.
- Procure the desired equipment and components.
- Construct the systems to meet your schedule requirements.
- Commission the systems for peak efficiency and performance.
- Warrant the installation for whatever time period you select.
- Service the installation to achieve maximum efficiency, reliability and comfort.
- Operate the system more cost effectively than you can with your own employees.
